Fail...

Well, it's been over a week- and it's not so much that we can't find any band that will let us film- it's simply the practicality of it, seeing as they are only free for filming, when we are not lol. On the bright side- if this doesn't work for us, at least we can do the short film instead (Y)

In the meantime, we have a few final plans for trying to get a band

Me: I will speak to the high school music department, and see if there are any bands they could recommend to us- if not, i do have a friend who has a gig coming up, and could have a chat with him. But i cannot imagine he'll be incredibly brilliant for time management =S

Tom Cowles: Our media teacher recommended a band, which includes a student she used to teach, so Tom will facebook him and see what happens there

Tom Coe: We have a pub nearby which is also one of the main music venues for Norwich, so Tom will leave a post on their website to see if anybody is interested

Plan A Part 2

Well, the chat went the way I was hoping it would =]
We decided that a short film, or a music video would be the better choices- which I'm very happy about. Once we narrowed it down to these two options, we had a quick chat about which of these we would prefer to do, given the choice. We thought that a music video would not only be better because of Tom Cowles' creativity and enthusiasm to do it more as a hobby than a task- which is vital to not only doing our best, but making the most of this.

However, on the other side of things, the task states it has to be an unsigned band; preferably that we know, so it makes it easier for us to arrange filming etc. This is a bit impractical, seeing as none of us know any lol. But, as it is early days, we can afford to take a bit of a gamble with time, and spend the next week or two just trying to organise if there is anyone we can use.
Wish us luck!

Plan A

After our first session as a group, we went away and had a think about what we wanted our project to be. I was more enthusiastic about doing either a short film, or a music video- Purely because both me and Tom Coe have produced a short film before, so we could use our previous experience as a base for which to build on for this. However on the other side of stuff, Tom Cowles has alot of experience creating music videos and editing them- and i have been really impressed with what i have seen. I'm not totally sure which i would rather do, but we're going to have a proper chat as a group a bit later on MSN to decide- so will keep ya posted

Groups...

We have all separated into our own personal groups of who we wish to do this project with. I will be working with Tom Cowles and Tom Coe. The reason we decided we would work well together as a group, is due to Tom Cowles having alot of previous experience producing home-made music videos and editing them all from his macbook. Also i have worked with Tom Coe previously, and we worked well together; as we have a similar work ethic, and our contributions to a team compliment eachother (him having more camera skill, whereas I have more creative writing experience and concepts on which we can develop).
So all in all, sounds like we should make a good team =]
